ok i have a 1999 saturn sc1 an installed a hornet 564t alarm/starter an jus want 2 hook up the domelight supervision wire from unit. i have 2 different setups how 2 wire up tha relay an dont wanna mess nothin up in tha car. 85 (-)BLACK/ white wire from unit, 86 (+)12v constant, 87 domelight supervision polarity (+) or (-) not 2 sure if i should hook it up 2 ground since the domelight wire is (-) or something else. and 30 domelight supervision wire. other setup says "domelight supervision wire w/(-) door trigger" which car has neg. door trigger. 85 domelight wire from unit, 86 (+)12v constant, 87 ground an 30 (-)door trigger wire. not 2 sure which 1 to use. some help would be appreiciated.

What polarity turns on the dome light? Positive or negative? Then after you figure that out strip a small section of that dome light wire and apply either 12+ or ground and see if it illuminates the dome light. You may need to trick the car to think the door is closed. If it has a pin switch push in while testing and if it is latch based then use a awl to push in the latch like when you close the door. Just don't forget that you have done this or you may try to shut the door and slam it into a closed latch causing possible damage to the lock mechanism.
After you test then you hook up relay accordingly.
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

ok i tested the domelight an +(12volts) turn it on an (-)ground turns it off. When i hooked up tha relay it turned the domelight off when i turned tha alarm off an it didnt do anything to the light when i turned the alarm on. wondering what i did wrong.

The door trigger wire in vehicle will turn on the dome light as well.
All Door Trigger     WHITE     (-)     SMALL HARNESS BELOW ASHTRAY
