I was wandering if anyone may have or had one of these units before, I recently finished installing it in my 1997 Chevy 1500, my remote start works great, and after some help here I even got my remote keyless entry working, but my question is no matter what I do I can't seem to set off the alarm.i have it hooked to my horn and get audible signals when starting or using my remote keyless entry.Called tech support and was told by one guy that I could add the motion sensor (508d) and the talking module (516u) to it with no problems, but had another tech tell me that it wasn't an alarm system but yet it has the door trigger hookup and a few other security features, If it is not, I would like to add one, any ideas would be appreciated.

The system when armed should act as a basic alarm. The car should have starter kill hooked up, and when you try to start with system armed it should set off alarm. The door trigger should but I am not too familiar with these systems since I install professional units (Viper, Hornet, Automate, Crime Stopper, etc.) that are much more defined as if it is remote starter or alarm or combo unit. There looks to be a sensor port but I don't know which sensor you could use. Maybe you could get a double guard shock sensor by DEI and it may plug right in.
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

Thanks for the reply techman93, That may explain why it deosn't actually set off my vehicle horn other than chirps, I have not hooked the starter kill wire up as I thought it went to an existing factory alarm, I do however have the door pins(-) side hooked to my unit, and my remote will activate the headlights(added a relay), lock and unlock the doors(type c, added relays), dome light will come on when unlocking for security and of course the remote start with the safety hood pin, as well as engine kill when pressing brake pedal during remote start. Also the 508d duel stage sensor is here now so I will try these thngs late this afternoon, thanks again
