How do you lock a module (iei. python 1400) with the bitwrtier?  is it a certain setting scrolling through the features?

it should be one of the very first options when you turn the bitwriter on

i dont think that replacing the battery will default the programming. the lock feature is more for making sure no one can be sneaky and program another remote to your alarm without you knowing about it.

also just to add, dei's unite have a non volatile memory, which stores all setings, so even in the event of battery replacement the unit will still recall it's previous settings, the locking of the unit has absolutely nothing to do with this as mr soundnsecurity said.

The last 2 posts, by sound and security and t&t are spot on. dumping the battery won't change anything; i n fact locking the settings means a) Know one can get to them manually, you need a bitwriter, and b)  someone else with a bitwriter could change the settings anyway.
