Good question, Herb.  The ADS DLSL CA2 will do a lot for you to

simplify the install.  First check the white label on the ADS DLSL CA2
box.  It probably says to use install guide #2779.  That guide will
tell you to set the module for Platform 61 and follow the ADS ALSL GM3
install guide #4035 to complete the install.  This guide actually has
the wiring diagram for the necessary connections.

You didn't mention the ADS RNG GM3 so I am guessing you did not get

that with your other parts.  That means that you will follow the Type 3
install directions.  Remember that without the ADS RNG GM3 you will be
consuming constant power and if the car is not used for several days the
battery could go flat.  A weak battery and cold weather could exacerbate
this problem.

With that firmware, the ADS bypass module is not D2D compatible with the

Viper unit so you will need to make all the necessary connections between
the Viper and the ADS DLSL CA2.  Reference the chart on Page 2 of the guide
to see the supported features for your car.  Note that the Hood Status is
only supported if your car has the Factory Hood Pin.  While you won't be
connecting some Python wires to the car, those wires will be connected
to the ADS bypass ( lock, unlock, trunk release, tach, door & trunk
status ).  The ADS bypass will handle the vehicle interface via its' Data
connection.

Sorry if this response didn't exactly answer your question.  There will be

many wires from the Python that aren't used for this install.  First make up
a chart to list all the Pythons connectors/wires and where each needs to
go.  The ADS Type 3 diagram should help.  If you have any specific wires left
over and are not sure about, just ask.

There are several ADS wires connected to the vehicle.  The ADS bypass Yellow wire takes care of the Passlock2

immobilizer and the ADS bypass Orange wire to the vehicles SWC data wire takes care of the rest.

The ADS AL CA bypass module is a "Multi" series module.  As such it can be flashed with many different

firmwares to support many different vehicles.   The install guide you would need to follow would depend
on the firmware that was actually flashed on to the ADS AL CA module.  For your vehicle there are four
firmwares available, as follows:

ADS AL(DL) GM3  This is a full featured bypass firmware that supports the iDatalink D2D interface.

DBI AL(DL) GM3  Same as above but supports the DEI D2D interface.

ADS AL(TB) PL  This firmware handles only the transponder bypass and supports the iDatalink D2D interface.

DBI AL(TB) PL Same as above ( transponder bypass only ) but supports the DEI D2D interface.

To add to the confusion, there are different firmware revision levels for the above listed firmware.  This

is a normal occurrence as new vehicles are added and updates are made.  However these revisions might
require wiring changes, so the install guide must match the firmware revision.

To get the most "bang for the buck", the DBI AL(DL) GM3 firmware could be used with the D2D connection

between the ADS module and the Python unit.   The current firmware revision is V6.11 and the associated install
guide is #8891.  Here is a link to this guide  :  http://www.idatalink.com/support/get-install-guide/guide_id/8898
A lot of installers prefer going in the W2W mode ( due to strange problems ).

Your original inquiry mentioned the ADS DLSL CA2 which is a "Solo" series bypass module and comes

pre-flashed with firmware that will perform the same functions as the ADS AL CA module flashed with the
GM3 firmware.  If you wish to use the ADS AL CA module, ensure that it is flashed with the correct firmware.
( A special ADS USB cable ( $50 ) is required to flash a module. )

As you can see this gets real complicated.  ADS iDatalink will not offer tech support to DIYers.  Additionally

access to the firmware downloads is restricted to 12 volt industry professionals that are registered and
verified by ADS.
