Hi, Everyone. About three months ago I installed a Vampire Remote Starter on a 97' DODGE RAM Pick-Up full size. I has factory security (FS) system. I was not able to disarm the FS with the Vampire, so what I did was to ground the inputs of the FS (the dome light) which was the signal that armed the FS after the last door was closed. It was working fine but now the FS is comming out and it turns off the engine because it can control the fuel system. So some times it turns off the truck on the road.

Any ideas on this issue?

How can I do the Disarm of the FS with the Vampire?

FACTORY DISARM

L GRN/ORG24 PIN CONN BEHIND DRV DASH

There is a DISARM wire coming from the Vampire alarm that you need to connect to the above wire. This should do the trick. If not you can disconnect the factory alarm system completely from it's harness.

Thanks Jeff, but this is the up-date.

I had this information and I did not find the mentioned wire.  That is why I have done what I mentined before (ground the input signals to the FS). I found the factory alarm, but if I disconnet it the truck will not start, even whit the key. I need to disarm the FS with its original transmiter in order to run the truck.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
