Has anyone had any luck connecting an intergrated alarm to the 2005 Dodge or Freightliner Sprinter. The Can-bus factory alarm was cancelled for this model year & the onlt can-bus intergrated alarm that would work with it is sold only in Europe. I have a limited alarm working on it now just to protect the contents as I have had it broken into two weeks after purchase. Daimler Chyrsler offers no solution only a stand alone system. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sparky

Define integrated alarm. Try to be more specific as to what you are doing, keyless entry upgrade or regular alarm.

The truck has a keyless entry. It also has lock functions such as, lock with the remoteparking lights flsh 3 times. Unlock with remote-parking lights flash once. Use the remote to unlock & do not open the truck-it self locks after 45 seconds. It has master locking on the centre console, ie. I can lock just the rear doors or rear doors & passenger door or all doors & visversa. The factory alarm was just an add on through the can-bus which monitored all this plus towing & glass breakage. It is not offered in North America any longer. An intergrated alarm would work off the factory remote. In other words be trigged from the vehicles lock & unlock. Not that easy with can-bus. I hope this explains what I am trying to accomplish.

Just install a aftermarket alarm setup.. these Sprinters are the biggest pain in the neck to integrate anything on.. I have made a few RV's out of them and absolutley hate them.. The electrical system is a nightmare, especially to try to intrgate into the factory stuff... And you are right.. doge dumping the alarm setup really blows now...that means we have to deal with them...
Sorry to be so negative but I hate these vehicles and needed to vent....

How did you solve the lock / unlock issue? The one I did I have not had a chance to get back into the shop and look further into it. I went to the single wire (no resistors necessary) in the center console, the problem was that either a lock or unlock pulse was operating the factory actuators. When you push the lock button a second time the alarm would still be active but the lock wire would think that it was being unlocked and would indeed unlock the doors. I didn't find this vehicle to be a major PITA but the lock issue has me thinking.

I came up with an idea today. What is unique when the remote is pushed for lock? The tail lights falshing. The same is true for the unlocking. It evens flashes a seperate sequence for door open. I'm going to try & put a circuit board together to watch for these inputs & give me a pulsed output for lock or unlock. I am also going to install the siren off this board. I am removing the hornet that was installed by a nameless company that asusured me with their combined 20 years it would work. They will disconnect it from the parking lights & door switches as I have had a nagging problem with the peddle dropping out & the engine dropping back to idle for 5 sec. The dealership can't find the problem as no code is set. However having said that the alarm is still on the can-bus & could be causing some noise in the network. They also advised tying to the can-bus may or could void any warranty. Again I want to thank Mercedes for their thoughtless approach to the many people not satisfied with a having to carry two remotes. I am also going to wire in a glass breakage sensor & a microwave sensor in the front & back of the van(a factory solid partition seperates the front from the back.) That should aliviate the door pins in the circuit. What I am trying to do is stay away from the can-bus. A pain generating speaker in the rear should dispose oof anyone should they get past the microwave sensor. Of course all this would be driven by an isolated battery. Then I will wake up & have breakfast. 2005 Dodge/Freightliner Sprinter Alarm? -- posted image. All kidding aside if its not 20 below on the weekend I will try this & post my results. I have checked & rechecked the tail lights flashing & it does not appear to be duplicated by any other action other than by the remote.

Thank you OZzyd from the bottom of my freezing heart. Although it is currently -18 degrees celcius I went out & changed the wiring with the help of you info. For anyone else with a 05 Sprinter with keyless entry & no alarm here is the way to intergrate it as far as triggering arm/disarm. Use the blue/red pin #2 in the pink connector on the CTM which is under the drivers seat. You need to take the screws out of the top fuse panel & bottom panel to access it. It is mounted on the back of the inside face of the seat base. Take the torx screw clost to you out & just loosen the one on the other side & it will slide toward you. Poof its out. The unlock wire is beside it in the pink harness BLACK/ red pin #3.    Make sure you get the right one. There is two. I grabed the right one at first to test ok but when I went to solder a wire onto it I mixed it up with another BLACK/ red in the same harness. Easy to do in the dark & extremely cold. I ran each of these wires through a 12volt mechanical relay connected to the coil. The other side of the coil I grounded. Between them I placed a diode to stop & reverse voltage when the coil opens. I also ran a sepreate fused 12volt feed through the normally open contacts & the other side to the appropriate arm/disarm trigger on the alarm. The parking lights & door pins were already wired. Following OZzyd wiring notes above should have those points wired easy too. This way also arms the alarm after the truck is unlocked & not opened. When it relocks it rearms as well. Thanks again OZzyd. Sparky

Glad to see you got it working... Rather impressive... I know you sprinter guys are die hards about them...I just don't have the patience for German over engineering....
Good luck...
