should a rs have both types of inputs in order to use either one, or can the same tach input be hooked up to voltage sensing. if so where would it be hooked up to. my la-z-start rs only runs for about 5 minutes then shuts down, but only when the engine is cold. when the engine is up to "normal" temperature ill remote started and it will last the full 15 minuets i have it programed to. any ideas to why it wont last the full cycle with a cold engine.

You have to choose either one, but not both. I used tach on all my install. One thing you can do is try resetting the remote starter unit and unplug the unit. Relearn the tach and set the running cycle to run longer than you normally would and see if that helps.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.tach to voltage sensing -- posted image.
