My dad just picked up a used truck that has a comand start 200 series remote starter.  It isn't starting, checked the switch, batteries in the remotes and the fuses as well as all connections.  I figure that the remote just needs to be programed but I can't find out how to , can anyone help?

It is a 1998 Comand Start series 200 and is installed in a 98 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L 4 cyl.

Thanks

*bump- can anybody help me out with this.

I have heard something like you turn the key to the on position and then press the hood pin switch 5 times, hit the brake pedal then hit button 1 then 2.

Does this sound right?

Flash the hood pin switch and then press button #1 will program the remote. When referring to flashing the hood pin, you have to press the hood pin down and release, within 1 second press it down again and leave up. Parking lights will stay on now for at least 4 seconds, then press button #1
