I am installing a rs999tw1 on a 2002 blazer.  I have located and tested all wires from the diagrams correctly with the exception of a couple.  The two wires I am having trouble with are the factory arm and disarm wires.  The diagrams are saying they are the tan and light green wires at the purple bcm plug.  I found them alright but when I test them with my digital multimeter the tan(arm) comes up with nothing at all and the light green(disarm) comes up with positive 12 volts.  The diagrams read that these are supposed to be negative.  Please help me if I am in the wrong spot for the wires or am doing something wrong to get a positive 12 volt reading.  I have tested some of the other light green looking wires in the bcm area and they all test positive as well.  I know the meter is working because when I located the horn wire it showed negative as it was supposed to.  Thanks for the help.

Sorry about the above post I accidently hit the paste button and then erased everything.  I thought.  Anyhow this should be easier to read.

Everything I see says the Factory Dis-arm wire in lt-green in the drivers door at the door module.Your better off getting a bypass module for the doorlocks anyways.None of the sheets I seen even list the factory arm wire.

I have the GMSL bypass module already.  Does that mean I don't have to hook up the arm and disarm wires from the remote starter since I have the bypass module?

[/QUOTdepends on the car
Also pulsing the tan wire @ the same time you lock will arm the factory. The Green & tan wire are all the way to the right in the BCM

I have everything installed and the remote start works just fine.  It starts the first time everytime.   My keyless entry on the RS does not work nor does the parking light features.   I was informed that I could use the GMSL bypass module and connect the outputs from the RS to the GMSL and then connect to the diagnostics wire and that would control everything.  No such luck.  Some others on here said the GMSL does seem to work properly with the Blazers and S10 trucks.  Can I hook up the keyless entry directly to the RS or will that trigger factory alarm?  If I can do that how do I need to hook that up?  Or do I just need a different/ better bypass module.  Don't really want to spend anymore money.  If need I can post how I hooked the entire system up for trouble shooting.  I am just assuming it has something to do with GMSL since others have had troubles with it.

Thanks

Brandon

I am not familar with the GMSL module,I think you can still run your lock and unlock wires seperatly from that bypass module. You would have to use relays to convert to (pos)pulse for your car, unless your unit provides positive pulse for doorlocks.Make sure the polarity jumper in your unit is set for the correct polarity for your parking lights and that the in-line fuse is good.

The only module you need for the blazer like yours is to temporarily bypass the passlock system.  Everything else including arm and disarm can be wired directly to the car's wiring at the BCM.  Your lt. green disarm wire will go to ground when you turn your ign key in your key cylinder in your driver's door.  Hook that to your disarm wire from your RS.  And to arm your factory security all you need to do is take your rearm from your RS to your tan wire which is your driver's doorpin wire.  What that does is lock the doors when the door is open and that's what arms your alarm.  Lock and unlock are at the BCM also and so is your horn and parklights.  Very simple vehicle I would love to do these all day long.  Later

ds1434

Thanks for all the info.  I have already hooked the disarm wire from my RS to the lt. green disarm in the purple plug BCM.  I have also hooked the rearm from RS to tan in purple BCM.   I understand I need to now use relays to lock and unlock as well.  I know the horn is black wire and parkinglights are white wire.  Can you tell me which color BCM plug the Lock, Unlock, Horn, Parking lights and oh yeah for my rear hatch as well.  I know this is a pain but I have been doing audio as a hobby that past couple of years for myself and others and just wanted to try new style remote start.  I would like to someday turn this hobby into a business that is why I am asking all the questions.  Gotta start and learn somewhere, right?

Is just hooking the disarm and rearm wires supposed to lock and unlock in any situations because I am getting no response on anything other than the car starting everytime.  Which that works fine but would not want to carry around and use two remotes all the time?

Thanks

Brandon
