You can also find the door lock wires fairly easily at GEM behind glove box.  You also may notice once your system is in, your aftermarket remote will not unlock the car if you lock it with the door switch or the Ford remote and leave it for a few minutes.  (Ford Slamlock) There are topics on this site how to work around it, or you could avoid using door switch or factory remote to lock the car.

P.S. Your post said 2002 Focus sdt.  Did you mean SVT with MANUAL trans.?  If this is the case, be sure to put a system in designed for manual trans., or you may hurt someone.

Manual reservation system probably refers to a sequence of events that must occur before the system will allow a remote start sequence to initiate. Systems designed for manual transmissions operate in this manner. Some require that when you are ready to put the car into 'ready' mode, you set the parking brake, keep foot off of brake pedal, push remote start button, exit vehicle and close door...this tells the system that it is ok to remote start when requested. Most of these systems will also deactivate the mode if the door is opened, or unlocked prior to remote starting. These are safety features.
