any 07 that i have done so far doesn't have a starter wire, just the PURPLE / brown mux wire and pink/white ignition so the wiring procedure is different that an 06.  Checking to see if your specific truck has the starter wire would be the first step.  If it does, its just like the 06.  What kind of remote starter are you installing?  You will need 1 or 2 relays depending if your brand has an onboard relay.  Here is how i do them with AstroStart and the onboard relay:

Relay 1

  • 86:  12V
  • 87:  ground through 560 ohm resistor
  • 87a:  (-) pulse before through 8.5 kohm resistor
  • 85:  (-) Accessory programmable output from RS
  • 30:  goes to 87a on the onboard relay on the RS

Onboad Relay

  • 30:  to purlple/brown at ignition harness
  • 87a:  to 30 at relay mentioned above
  • 87:  ground through 180 ohm resistor
  • Onboard relay programmed for starter output

Hope this works out for ya.  It has worked well for me so far.  Im sure you can figure it out if you dont have the onboard relay, you would just have to wire up 2 relays. Post up with any questions.

Its a 2500 Deisel so I am unsure but being that its brand new off the lot Im thinking there is no starter wire.

Relay one, can you explain 87a better. Pulse before what? Are you talking like a ground out when running wire or a status output wire is it something different

Looks like a disarm wire to me. The 8.5k is what the MUX wire sees when a key is inserted into the key cylinder, but not turned. That in combination with powering up the transponder bypass will turn off the factory alarm. Can be useful if trying to control the doorlocks (and factory alarm) with an aftermarket remote.

On the #1 relay that staes pulse before thru a 8.5kohm resistor. Use this value ONLY if the factory security disarms by sliding the key into the key cylinder.

If you need to TURN the key to disarm, use 1.470kohms.

That whole setup is ONLY needed if the rig has "door security"

So just to be sure I get you, if I sit in the truck and arm the alarm, and put the key into the tumbler WITHOUT TURNING IT and then open the door, if the alarm does not go off then I use an 8.5K resistor, if I need to turn the key then its1.47K. This is all dependant on the alarm going off when the door opens. Are we talking the ign tumbler or the door cylinder?

sorry bout that. I should have stated that this truck I made the diagram for HAD factory security. KarTuneMan is right about the other resistor value if it doesn't have security. Yes the "pulse before" is a disarm wire. As for trying to find out which one, I would arm the factory security, wait a minute or two, reach in and unlock the door and open from the inside, alarm will go off if you have factory security. Then, put the key in the ignition....if the alarm stops, you have your answer. If you have to turn the key for the alarm to stop, then you have your answer aswell. That way, you KNOW it has factory security and how to disarm it.
