1987 Cadillac Deville

I want to hook a radio up in this car.  It is my 16 year old daughters car, and I am the mom, so I need step by step please!

From radio:

1 light blue, 1 red; 1 black, 1 gray, 1 gray with black, 1 purple, 1 purple with black, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 green with black, 1 white, 1 white with black

From car:

1 dark brown, 2 gray, 1 light brown, 1 dark green, 1 light green, 1 black, 2 yellow, 1 yellow with black, 1 dark blue, 1 light blue (jthese are from the dash side of the car)

2 orange with black, 1 orange, 2 gray with white (these are coming from the glove box side of the car)

I know color to color from car to radio, but what about the leftover ones?

If you can help me, but would rather do it in a private email, that is fine too.    Or, if you know of somewhere I can go to find out please let me know.

The Yellow, Red, and Black on the Radio are the Power Wires. I would test them in the car with a test light or a voltmeter first then isolate them and then connect them to the radio's wires.  While making connections you do not need to have the harness plugged into the radio. Plug in the radio after all your connections are made. They connect to the car as so:

Radio's Yellow to Car's Orange - This is the +12Volt battery wire and is live all the time. Take care with this wire and make sure it doesn't hit any metal while stripping or connecting it, or it might blow a fuse.

Radio's Red Wire to Car's Yellow - This wire has +12Volts when the ignition key is turned on. Care only needs to be taken if you have the ignition key turned on and it hits metal or a fuse will blow. (There are 2 yellows-1 for power, 1 for Speaker-TEST)

Radio's Black Goes to Car's Black - This wire is the same as ground and the above 2 wires cannot touch this wire or a fuse will blow.

Now Lets Move onto the Speaker Wires - They can be tested in pairs by using a AA,AAA,C or D Battery.  The correct Pair of wires will make the speaker make a static noise as it is touched to the battery. One wire goes to the top of the battery the other to the bottom.  This will Verify you have the correct wires as well as the sound that the battery makes allows you to verify the location of the speaker.(Ex. Front/Left, Rear/Left)

Rear Speakers:

Left: Radios Green To Cars Brown(2 browns-TEST)   and  Radios GREEN/ Black to Cars Yellow(There are 2 yellows-1 for power, 1 for Speaker-TEST)

Right: Radio's Purple to Cars Dark Blue  and  Radios PURPLE / Black to Cars Light Blue

Front Speakers:

Left: Radio White to Cars Tan  and  Radios WHITE/ Black to Cars Gray(Check your Grays make sure you use the gray that makes the speaker sound with the battery test)

Right: Radio Gray to Cars Light Green and  Radios Gray/Black to Cars Dark Green

Power antenna or Antenna Built into Glass: If car has neither then you just tape up the blue wire-not used

Radio's Blue Wire to Car's Pink

All other wires from car are not used - Hope this Helps!
