I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery 2 ,I'm trying to connect my DVD system so that it does not turn off with the ignition off. It is currently wired to a cigarette lighter socket in the back. I would like to keep it as lighter socket powered but how do I bypass the socket to stay on without key in ignition. Much appreciated help ,guidance prethanks guys.

jump a wire from the fuse box where it says lighter,to a constant power ,ex:horn, acesory lights, headlights, etc.
if you use a test light you will see which fuses have power when theres no key.or you could run a direct line from the battery to the cigg lighter ,must put inline fuse if u do that.
be carefull not to use a small fuse.it wiill pop.
simply pull the chip fuse out and place the wire in the hole.thats one way<not proffesional> but effective and pretty safe...or get some other ideas from evryone else?

Use a fuse tap. BTW, your car turns off accessories while the engine is off/cranking for a reason. I wouldn't fool around with it.
