I just made my default customized performance screen.  It's kinda basic, but of course its just a test of what is capable in this Nav modding.

Now if I could just figure out how to make this N-1 read mp3 encoded data DVD's.  Anyone try this yet?  That would be bling bling baller to have a dual layer dvd with over 8 gigs of your favorite mp3's, eh?

I'm gonna try a crystal clear version of this to see if I can see the wallpaper image behind the face of this template.

Did you ever have any luck with this? I'm dying to try it myself, but haven't found a suitable way of doing it.

scarface78, I am not asking for the whole disk. Could you please help me by at least giving out the root files on the disk? I am try to get to the bottom of the lockout issue as well as disassembling the firmware. I have a friend that will be coming out this weekend the does embedded programming for a printer manufacture. He is going to lend a hand to this effort. The more data I have the better our chances. I have an ftp. The files should compress to a very small archive. Since you are the only one replying to posts on here with the disks I am asking for your help.

Are you referring to the clear performance gauges or the mp3 functionality Explor202?

I gave myself the clear gauges and you really can't read the dials well and the mp3 dvd stuff has limited functionality by using a program called AudioDVD (version 1.9) is what I have used successfully to make audio dvd's.  I have gotten about 44 cd's on one dvd and that is not even a dual layer.  One cannot have more than 12 hours in one directory/folder and for some reason not all the media is used (only about 65% is burned) when you do make the disc.   All together I have gotten about 44 hours on a disc. The program has customizing of the fonts and background pictures so you can change them to suit your tastes.

Sorry, I was referring to the clear gauges. I've been experimenting with that too. I used M$ PictureIt last night to "extract" the three gauge faces, and will try to apply them to a blank back this weekend to see if it works.

I used AudioDVD too, but didn't load it with CD's. I loaded it with all the MP3's I have, and it seems to work just fine. While I haven't gone thru the entire disc, it appears to have burned over 400 MP3's without a problem. It took all day, but it works!

Willing to bet the reason that the ipod stuff doesnt work is due to the memory limit in the N1/N2.

The N3 has the same amount of memory as the N1 and N2 so thats unlikely.  More likely something to do with the chipset for graphics.  Old one was never able to do XM full screen either but N3 does full xm and ipod

Looks like there are already tools to edit as well as view the maps on your computer. Take a look...

The company that creates the maps is... http://www.incrementp.co.jp/english/business.html (A division on pioneer). They are the ones that created this as a standard.  They have an app out called "Mapfan" that just might read this format.
