Other names:-

Germany (literal translation) tubes as means of passing cables from car to door with sealing grommets either end.

Italy, don't bother everything will be rotten and corroded in 2 years.

France, don't bother all the electrics will fail, Peugeot alternative, let's design it so it cuts the cables after a couple of years.*

UK (Rover/BL dog days, early 70s) We can't afford it.

*Honestly true.
