Ah yes, some of us seem to just keep soldiering on...
Though I rarely get burnt, I still suffer the occasional loss. But being a common target for continuous powered batteries, I expect that. (The last wasn't even steam driven.)
Not that I should makes puns for female canine purposes - that would be too pathetic. But I'll blame an old-age return to childhood for that.

big_0 - FTR, my last dig was not directed at you or this thread.
This thread is IMO ok. It was just your comment that you thought Howie's diagram was "a bit over kill" - I found its simplicity very elegant.
The rest reflects my/our concern that people could cause major damage - especially after vague or wrong wiring descriptions.
And sometimes lines like "i found a wire that will do what i need it to do" seems akin to admitting suicide (despite intentions otherwise).
But since this is not a life threatening situation, from my POV, it's not that important. At worst it will be another case of DIY causing the industry to earn more income.
My humor is IMO an effective way of getting people to reconsider or check their actions.
It's also a way of countering perceived insults.
Best wishes.

ok for the two geniuses. i know my american is different than your "Queens" english but all i wanted to know is;

when my truck is in drive i know that the wire that i mentioned before is hot and when in park or neutral that wire is dead. So with that knowledge i can hook up a relay to that wire to open when in gear and close when in park. to make the actuators do what i want it to do.

and when i posted that reply on how to wire up the relay i was looking for some input on weather or not i had it wired correctly. but instead i got a wise ass response because i said that the diagram was over kill.
i knew what i wanted when i asked. but howie ll (sensitive much?) , apparently doesn't read to well and pay attention to what is written. and then the boyfriend oldspark from down under chimed in to defend him.
you know you two gold "members" your a couple of snobs

The translation is "No - you wired it up wrong."
And in case it's still unclear, AFAIK nothing has changed to indicate that it is correct.
I suspect Howie's diagram is correct. And "safe" wrt not damaging or cross-powering etc.
I'm probably not a snob. If I was, I'd speak the Queen's english as opposed to the King's.
I think you misinterpret some (IMO) light-hearted jesting -cum- "warning" as I tried to explain in my last.
I was in part also responding to your technical snobbery.
But you are free to ignore Howie's circuit and statement(s).
Maybe your wiring will work - we don't have sufficient information (as Howie mentioned).
And don't worry about Howie's hypocrisy. His diagram re-draw despite his earlier "I couldn't be bothered..." is typical and results from other incidents else a return to his usual helpful self.
We'll assume your implementation works unless you reply otherwise.

And big 0 please learn to spell yourself before accusing others, start sentences with capital letters and "apparently doesn't read towell".
I called you out for exactly the reasons stated but you obviously aren't prepared to listen when probably far more experienced people are trying to help.
By the way in my book, big 0 has nothing to do with the late Roy Orbison, more a big zero.
