You should try a JBL BP-600.1 instead. It actually puts out its rated power (and then some) and will be much better then anything with the name kenwood on it. Sorry if it won't be able to control it from your head-unit but it will sound soooo much better then a kenwood amp.

No don't be sorry.... I don't want to compromise quality just be able to control it from the h unit. I really appreciate honest suggestions.  I just need to know what will push these the best.

If it's not too late, you could always exchange the DVC 4 ohm L5's with DVC 2 ohm L5's.  This way you can get a total load of 2 ohms with both in parallel and don't need to buy a new amp.  You could also buy a mono amp that's stable at 1 ohm.
