Hi all.

This is my first post here so I hope I don't come accross as foolish.

I am a sort of hands on... can do anything type of guy, but I do struggle with electrical stuff sometimes.

I am presently fitting a asian car alarm to my Mitsubishi Pajero diesel. The instructions are probably the worst anyone could imagine. Mitsubishi Pajero Diesel 4x4, No coil - Last Post -- posted image.

I got the alarm off ebay, and as such, the alarm is a no name type from China.

Can anyone tell me how to wire up an ignition relay to suit a diesel? The schematic provided shows the relay is to be setup for a petrol vehicle with a coil etc. I have run my meter over the ignition and think I am ok with identifying conections there. So where does this relay wire go, that is supposed to hook up to coil?

I have read through and searched a lot of this site...... The question I have asked may be too basic I think.

Any help very much appreciated.

I am not sure but I think what your are looking for is a tach wire to tell the alarm when the vehicle is running, this is only if you are installing a remote start. Find a tach wire, being a diesel it should have one. You didn't post the year, or I didn't see it, but for a 99 the tach wire is WHITE/ blue behind the instrument cluster/tachometer. Post some more info on what exactly you are doing.
