Need help.  Tried looking everywhere for detailed information about the wiring in the 2001 rav4 for stereo/alarm installation.  If you have any information that would be useful it would me greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ok, another quick question... I notice that you have only one wire for the unlock.  I assume that is the unlock sognal from the unlock switches on the door?

Since the rav4 we aree working on has the keyless remote entry fromt he factory it is already hooked up for priority unlock and we would like to interface the new alarm to use priority unlock.

So my question is ... does the same wire you mentioned above control the unlock (i.e. 1 pulse opens driver door and 2nd pulse opens the rest of the doors?)  or is that a double pulse just to open all doors and the priority unlock signals fromt he factory wireless module are 2 different wires?  ny info you might have would be much appreciated thanks.

To all the fitter in usa do you have problems when you fit a alarm to a car that all ready has remote keyless entry (receiver for keyless ) by fitting a alarm that makes 2 receivers can cause range problems and remotes droping out of program solution is to fit upgrade alarm piggy backs off keyless entry module ( www.dynamco.com.au) this is a universal upgrade hope this is of help aussie

Just a note about the "double pulse" for uloock.  We simply pulled the lock/unlock wires as labeled by   DeathsJester12V and found that a single pull to ground for a fraction of a second worked just fine to lock/unlock the doors... but unfortunately it locks/unlocks all the doors at the same time.  We found wires that appear to be the motor control outputs (large gauge) from the drivers side module that control the individual sections of the car (blue/orange 2dots ; blue/orange 1dot ; blue/white 2 dot     to lock the doors)  (?? drivers unlock)   (blue/brown 2dot  ;  blue 2 dot  passenger/hatch unlock).  We tested by probing ALL the leads under the drivers side while pressing the buttons on the remote (lock/driver unlock/passenger unlock) and these were the only ones we found to have any apparent signal out.  Now if I am correct in assuming the relays are built into the module then there is no externally acessible input to the relays to control from the alarm and since taping these motor control wires directly (using extra relays) would not be an option... our only recourse is to unlock all the doors simultaneously using the wires previously mentioned OR cutting the motor control wires from the module and wiring up our own relay control but eliminating the ability of the factory systems to lock/unlock the doors.

Anyone have any other ideas/info that might help... it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

Darren
