Just the LCD does not turn on?  No idea there, if you have power and ground, A/V cabled hooked up. . .  It should work there dude.

I have an LCD for my Game Cube, the one designed for it.  I thought it would not come on one day, then found there was a slide switch on it for A/V, and Game. . .  It was on A/V for the exterrnal source, switched it to GAME and it came right on.  I don't know what options your LCD has, but this was my SMALL issue. . .

Maybe take it to where you bought it so they can test it out.  If you have the power, then it should be on.  Is there a power LED on the LCD also?  If that is not on, then no power or the unit is bad.

Make sure that the monitor does not rewuire s safety wire to be hooked up . This safety wire usually requires a ground input to the hand brake to ensure that the brake in engaged.

Safety wire, yeah, the reason for this?  Well, simply you should not be driving when watching the LCD, so they put this on so you should have the ER brake on (stopped) when watching TV or what else you're doing.  I do not buy LCDs with anything like this, just plain old LCDs with power and A/V inputs, not specifically for auto use.

This feature is usually supplied with HEAD UNITS that have the built in DVD player, because legally, the LCD has to be behind the driver/passenger seats, unless it's part of your onboard navigational system.  Well, in good ole' - everything is illegal - Pennsylvania, anyway.

You can bypass that by grounding it anywhere to disable the saftey feature.

No wiring diagram needed. Use a DMM to find the applicable wires for power to the monitor and DVD player. The amp I'm assuming is for the subwoofer so you will need to run new wires ( power, ground and RCA + a switched ignition source for the remote turn on lead ) and also is the DVD player also powering the speakers ? If so then here is the wiring for a 2000 Montero Sport which is the same as the 2001 & 2002's

All it was was a faulty LCD.  No prob, they swapped me out and I'm up and running!  Looks great, good picture.

I NEVER could have done this without all of your help, You guys rock!

One last question, the FM modulator isn't as powerful as I hoped.  Sometimes it gets interference from radio stations.  It has a 87.9-92.0 range, and I picked the best station for my location.  It works, but I get static.  I thought I could fasten the little antenna wire to the frame and get better signal, but it didn't work.  Should I run that antenna wire to the back of my radio somehow where the car antenna feed comes in?

Again, you guys are the best.  By the way, powered up with the dk blue wire.  Thanks for the tip.  And it's a roof mount, can not be seen from the front seat (at least not without some contortioning)

I have no problems with my FM modulator at 88.7, and I do have some local stations at that setting in my areas of travel, and I never get bleedthrough ot static.   Do you have the kind where the CAR antenna goes into the modulator, then out into the Radio?  What kind of FM modulator is it?

I know my CD Changer's Modulator goes IN-LINE with the antenna, so that the modulator signal takes priority over the air signal (you can hear it click on).  IF you do have this type, add a signal AMP after the modulator, see if that works.  My Modulator also states that it will slightly weaken the air signals, and to use an FM signal booster BEFORE going ito the modulator  (switched),  to turn that on when the modulator is off.  I can hook that up to a relay so that when there is no power to the Modulator, the AMP is on, one day I will do it.

Those EXTERNAL modulators that do NOT actually connect to the car's OE antenna are not all that wonderful..  Maybe you can get a head unit or EQ that has an external input so you can directly feed the signal through, like on an AUX setting.  IF your AMP drives all the speakers, you can feed the Audio out into the AMP inputs through a low leel converter that has an adjuster so you can set the input volume, then control it with the actual unit.

There are many ways to get a better Audio signal through, best is NOT to use the FM modulator, but if you have to, then maybe try a better one.
