Punch line to this will make everybody groan. Dealer calls me up. "We have to take that remote starter out". he says. "Before the customer came to pick up the car, we realized it had factory remote start!.....2008 jeep grand cherokee remote start - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.
you should have known that by looking at the key, there's a remote start icon on it.

OH JEEZE........ouch...... Well can you get the dealer to give you another that does NOT have remote start?

I have to say I don't regret having done this car. After all it is the thrill of the chase that keeps us going isn't it?
As much as I feel a bit silly, I have to say I took it for granted that if the dealer asked us to add remote start that it didn't have it. I even called the Jeep dealer and asked if there was an oem remote start available and they said no. Go figure...

Gotta love the dealers.  My local dodge dealer is bullying my customers into returning their remote starts after they have them installed.

I was thinking about taking one on myself, but I am very nervous about soldering directly to the ignition circuit board. did you have a decent amount of room to work with, or was it very tight? from the pictures on bypasskit.com, and it looks really tight in there. The only circuit boards I've ever soldered to are the sirius power plugs.. lol. I guess my biggest issue/fear is soldering too much and crossing to another connection.
So how was it??? lol

That suck about taking it out. Hopefully you're still getting paid for the job.
