I usually purchase my Sec./RS & Stereo Systems online since I started installing them for me & for my friends vehicles but never tried buying in a local dealer because I was thinking they won't allow it. To all local installers, have you encounter a customer just want to buy the system & install it themselves.

Most dealers have to sign agreements with distributors/manufacturers that specifically prohibit selling their product without installing it. Why not try finding yourself a distributor that sells 'unprotected' lines.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

That's what I thought thats why I didn't bother asking but in the second thought it won't hurt me to ask right? Well, fortunately I just talk to a local dealer that would sell me the units in a reasonable price, He only carry DEI and CompuStar pruducts which is good but I'm still looking who carries ULTRASTARTERS around Chicagoland.

Thanks Twelvoltz!

DEI an Compustar warrenty are very serious. they only allow lifetime warrenty if the seller (autorized dealer) installs it as well.

I always tell the customers that installed price and the price of just the unit is only $25 difference. That way the customer will just get me to install the system. Also, I tell them that the system has no warranty when they install the system where as I offer lifetime for the unit and lifetime for the installation.

I will take the money and send them to this site for advise, someone told me long ago, everything in your business should be for sale, even the tools and the business itself.

What UltraStart models do you have? Are you a dealer/installer?
