Hello all, I have an 07 Aveo5 hatchback Automatic. My keys have the lock and unlock buttons so I assume it has the passlock 2 system, Is that true? I have the wiring diagrams for an 04 aveo hatchback. Are these prints the same as an 07? Also does anybody have prints on the passlock system. I am installing a viper 160xv with the 556L interface unit.  Thank you

The Aveo does not use the Passlock II system, some do use a transponder system but it is an option only on the LT models I believe. Either way the 556L will not work. You would need a key-in-a-box bypass or a data based bypass.

I'm in process of installing a Viper 160xv. 3 questions

1. How do I test for the tach wire? I looked at pin 25 for a grey wire at the ecm, and its not grey, I also looked at the tach connector for a white wire and theres 3 or 4, which one is it?

2. How about the door unlock? I tied into the relay on the passenger side kickpanel onto the light green wire and grey wire is this correct?

3. How do I disarm the factory alarm? I tied into the driver kickpanel blue wire.

You should always test your wires for the proper function prior to hooking into them.
1. To test for the proper tach reference wire, set your meter to AC voltage, hook your black lead to ground and your red lead to the wire in question. When your engine RPM increases so will the voltage reading on the meter if you are on the right wire.
2. To test for door negative locks, put your meter on DC voltage. Hook your red lead to constant +12V and hook your black lead to the wire you suspect as being your lock wire. Press lock on the door if you are on the correct wire the meter will read +12V.
3. To test for the proper negative factory alarm disarm wire, again hook your DMM red lead to +12V, and probe the wire in question with the black lead. When you turn the key in the door cylinder to the unlock position the meter should read +12V.

1) test with a DMM (digital volt meter) set it to AC since you are reading the peaks. place black to neg and red to that wire. It will read from 1 - 6 volts and will change when RPM changes. testing will give you the proper one.

2) the wires are correct, but always test your wires befor connecting anything to it. they are type B or a negative trigger to activate factory relays.

3) DARK BLUE in drivers kick panel. Send a (-) pulse to this wire will disarm FACTORY alarm.

I tested the white wire at the tach connector and with the engine running I got 1vac. it changed but not to 6vac. The other couple of white wires didnt do anything.
