had an idea,

in my 06 lancer ralliart i have foam side bolsters on the back seat...

they're about 6inches thich so i though might be a good place for a set of speakers. as i'm thinking about taking them out of the rear shelf.

anyone have any tips on installing speakers in seat foam?

oh yea most likely will be 6.5's not sure if i'll use components or not...

and as i side question, is it bad to have a set of components front and rear?

Speakers can generate quite a bit of heat so it is not a good idea to mount them directly into foam rubber. You could certainly remove the foam and replace it with a glassed enclosure made into the same shape.

hmmm... might sound ghetto but what about PVC pipe? i'll take some pics of the peice should help a bit

lol... it just vibrates alot... its really thin cheap particle board so it vibrates no to mention the plastic hardware attached to it vibrates like crazy...

i'd prefer if it was nothing but speakers and carpet back there...

ples i wanna have a set up that isn't like everyone elses...

either i remove the speakers and put them elsewhere, or make a fiberglass enclosure for the shelf for the 6.5's

is it bad to have more than one set of components in the cabin o rthe car?
