putting a mars-11 remote start in a 05 pathfinder,07 sante fe,and 06 tucson using 556uw.  The 556uw calls for a (-) status input what wire would this be on the mars-11?

Generally on MARS11s I've used the blue 22 gauge ignition wire from the 3-pin plug. The orange anti-grind output may also work; however I can't say with 100% certainty that it's active before the car actually cranks.

it is the thin gauge ignition 3 negative output you need to use off the mars unit...

I've always used the thin orange wire in the main harness.  This is used for the starter anti grind output and also works well for connecting a bypass.  The third ignition wire will also work, but IMO it just adds to the clutter.
