I bought a used car (third owner), the second owner doesn't know what type of alarm it is, and of course I do not either.  I know that it is a Viper / DEI alarm, but I am not sure which model.

On the back of my remote it says DEI, 2^66 Rolling Codes and then FCC ID EZSDEI485  --- What model might that be ?

Also, I've been trying to get it out of valet mode since purchasing it, but alas, I've looked under the dash and I cannot see any resemblance of a valet switch or button.  Then again, I really do not know what I am looking for.  Any ideas ?

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide!

If you can trace the wires back to the CPU under the dash and get the model number and FCC ID there, we can help you better.

What color are your buttons and LED on you DEI remote? Also if the remote is working open your car door and press I then II then I your LED on the dash should turn off. There may not be a button to find. They might have done a ghost switch.

Thanks for the replies everyone.  At work, so I haven't crawled under the car to look for a CPU or anything...

My remote is black, the buttons are roman numerals, and when I press any of the buttons, there is a single green led light that illuminates.  When I press I and II, my car starts up remotely. ("I" unlocks/locks, and "II" pops my trunk)
Thanks for any help!  I'll download the manual once I know which one to download.. ;)

The led on the dash no longer blinks when I arm it, it stays on steady state.  (It does blink after I start the car, then it turns off)

In any case, I opened the door and pressed I and II and the car started ! :)  So I guess that didn't turn valet mode off.  How many different models of remote start did Viper make ?

Went under the car, and I can't see anything that looks like a CPU for an alarm..nothing is labelled as such.  Any more ideas ?

you might have a combination in there- such as a Viper 300ESP and a 552T or 259D or 359D.

The only way to really know is to take your underdash apart and find the brain.
