I want to hook up doorlocks to my Astrostart remote starter. The truck already has OEM keyless entry. Is there a simple connection I can make from the R/S lock and and unlock wires, since there is already keyless entry in the vehicle. Or do I have to wire in a relay in the drivers door as per document 1070. I want the the remote starter to work the same as the OEM keyless entry with progressive unlocking. Thanks for any help.

Looks like you need to get the lock wires in the door on that truck, then you would need to add a relay to the lock motor if you want to unluck the driver door on first press of transmitter..not that easy if you have never done it before.

There is a blk / YELLOW in a white plug in the drivers kick This is the drivers door unlock. Wire it rev. polarity triggered by first unlock.

The harness goes into the drivers door, but YOU don't need to!

Thanks KarTuneMan,
Is there a wire in that harness that I can access for the lock function as well? Also, will pulsing the unlock wire to ground disable the door security or will I need to make an additional connection to do that. When I unlock the door with the OEM remote it disables the security.
Thanks.
