I just got done installing a remote start in a 2004 Ford Explorer using the dei 555f transponder bypass, but could not get it to program. I followed the directions and used both keys, turning each and waiting until security light turned off. I then initiated rs and held little bulb next to, in front of, on top of and every other way, up to the ignition cylinder. I can get vehicle to remote start by holding key directly in front of ignition cylinder, so I know remote start works.
Please, if anyone has had a hard time with these let me know what you did? Thanks

If you looke at the bottom side of the ignition, there is a small black wire (approx.16AWG) that comes off of the ring around the cylinder strap the capsule of the bypass to this wire and it should work well there. Do you have the PATS or the SECURILOCK transponder keys? (PATS will have the keyring hole off center and a visable ridge at the top where the transponder is located, SECURILOCK usually has the blue Ford logo on the head of the key. If you have the SECURILOCK system I think you need the 555s not the f. If none of this helps so far, make sure the Ground out when running  is connected to the blue wire of the bypass and the red is connected to 12V constant. you should be able to feel the bypass click when when you try to remote start the car. if it doesn't, then something isnt connected properly.
Install it like everyone will see EVERY part of it.
