I just installed an autopage 655 alarm and remote start in a 2005 mazda mpv.  Everything works great except that when the car is left parked for a couple of hours, I try to unlock the doors or remote start and I get no response.  As soon as I walk up very very close to the vehicle, it then will unlock and remote start.  Now right after it receives its first signal, I can be very far away and it works great.  It almost seems as if the unit falls asleep after sitting for a while, as soon as it receives its first signal it works perfect.  Any suggestions?  Thanks....

That was the first thing I did, the second thing was relocated the attenna, third thing was made sure there was sufficient voltage when the vehicle is at rest and i got 12.3 VDC which is not bad.

No, i did not try that yet, I did try swapping the brain unit thinking there was a defect with it but that did not solve the problem.  I will try swapping the attenna next.  Any other suggestions..? Thanks..
