I have a clarion Max675VDII and am trying to work around the parking brake ground for video issue. Unlike many DVD playing headunits, you can't just ground it, as the unit needs to see a change in the ground signal. I could just install a switch, but I had read about a pulse timer relay someone had used for one of these, on another message board. The post wasn't clear on the wiring or which relay was used. I have a DEI 528T relay to use and need to know how to wire the parking signal up so that when I turn the head unit on, the parking brake ground signal is breifly interupted.

Here is what I was thinking:

BLACK: ground

Red: 12 VDC power

BLACK w/ stripe: not used

YELLOW 30 common: attach to parking brake line from head unit

BROWN 87: not used

ORANGE 87A (normally closed): ground

BLUE wire loop: uncut

Would this be correct?

Your BLACK/ White is your trigger. Connect it to ignition or something similar which will change polarity and trigger the timer.

I have a VRX575 USB and haven't got around to automating it . . .I have a toggle switch for now.

I'm going to activate it through an aux channel on my Viper which I can link to unlock.

I thought if you didn't cut the blue wire loop, that triggered on receiving negative (per the little instruction sheet). I assumed that meant that the relay sensed the unit trying to get ground and you didn't need to use the BLACK/ white.

That makes sense. However I already have the 528T pulse timer relay, might as well use it.

Yup. Cut the blue so it sees the transition from negative to positive as a trigger.
