Hi guys
I am having trouble with trying to get some 501 type LED bulbs to work on my 06 Vauxhall Astra H (Saturn Astra in the States)
I have heard that because of the Can-Bus system it doesnt like the low low voltage needed to run the LEDS is this right and if so how would i go about sorting it out
Cheers in advance
Chris

What kind of problem are you having?  What kind of bulbs are you trying to install?

You may be having an issue where the load isn't enough to make the electronics happy, but that has nothing to do with the CAN-bus.  If your load is too small you can either wire in some load resistors or use the original bulbs with the LEDs.  You could even hide the original bulb so it can't be seen.

these are the figures

  • 11 - 16 V dc
  • 100 ma power consumption
  • Fully Regulated - Designed to last
  • this is the bulb - its a 501 wedge type bulb

Are you sure the bulbs are good?  That is odd that they don't light up at all.

did you try turning them around?  LED's are polarized, unlike regular bulbs.
