Alright so I'm planning on starting my renovation of my "system" and I'm planning on using this woofer:  http://www.acoustic-visions.com/~acoustic/products/subwoofer_drivers/CSS_SD12/ in a TL box. Powered (hopefully) by an Alpine MRD-M1005.

Opinions?

The "Subduction" woofers are outstanding.

That's why it's the leading contender for my bass driver, I like quality, and I like cheap, but I love both at the same time..

Also, I intend on replacing my mids/highs with these: http://www.acoustic-visions.com/~acoustic/products/subwoofer_drivers/exodus_fr125/

Apparently it's basically Adire Audio, since they closed shop, Creative Sound is using their motor.

Well, really, that's like saying a Ze-Donk is different from a Zonkey. And CSS and Adire worked on it together before Adire called it quits.

The Fr125 was designed by Dan Wiggins, CEO of Adire Audio for Bob Reimer of Creative Sound Solutions.  Adire Audio did a lot of OEM design work along with their own offerings.

That subwoofer is an excellent choice.  I'm very sure you will be happy with it.

The Fr125 has unheard of on-axis response.  However the higher frequencies drop off quickly off-axis, which is how you would be doing most of your listening in a vehicle.  You would need to add a tweeter and a proper crossover to get adequate results.  Also even though it has quite a bit of excursion, it is still a 4" driver and not designed for infinite baffle solutions.  So you would probably have to build an enclosure to get decent low frequency extension.

They are great speakers though.  I'm using a pair of them as surround speakers in my home theater, as well as a pair of their cousins the Wr125 in my tower speakers.
