well yet again i need help from the pros. heres the deal. i have a decent set up now with a jbl 4 channel and kicker 6.5 full range and some cheap tweeters. (sound bad, very bad idea to cheap on the tweets. lol) anyways. im selling all of it and am getting an INFINITY REF7541A 4-CHANNEL that puts out 111 RMS @ 4 ohms. now the problem is that i want a set of components that will pop my eardrums. at least for 150 bucks or less. i know thats kinda cheap but its what i got. what is the best value components for that price? i found some infinity refence but wanna hear ALOT more opinions before i buy. thanks alot everyone!

Not trying to poke fun at you , but that's about what your asking for. You will probably pop your ear drums, but it won't be because of good, solid mid bass best 6.5 component set? -- posted image.. ARC has a component set for $ 250 that would sound pretty good with that amplifier.... KS 6006 Component set.

Why not keep the JBL amp and put the money for the new amp into the speakers, you will here more of a difference with a better set of speakers than just changing that amp out. Then as your budget upgrade your amp.

The infinity amp you are reffering to does not do well with any component set.  This amp was not designed to run component speakers.  I have owned this amp and have had many friends own it is well.  One was running some crappy power acoustic 6.5 components and it always cut out before clipping, i was personally running infinity kappa perferct 5.25 components and it also cut out all the time..  Basically to make a long story short i did some research and found out this amp was never designed to run any sort of component set.  (A represenative from infinity said this personally) Coaxials run amazing on this amp, but as far as components go the best advice i can give is to get a different amp.  I switched to the JBl 300.4 and would recommend that amp over the infinity any day..

Huh?! That doesn't make any sense! If you can power co-axials with the amp, then you can power components, period.

Sure you could power them just not as well.  It diddent make any sense to me either..  Thats why i did alot of research on them, i finally got through to infinity, and thats what they told me.  I guess it has something to do with their protection citcuit, but then i got thinking, why would infinity make something that wouldnet be able to run a pair of their speakers properly.  Has anyone else came across this problem with this amplifier?  It is hard to expalin what it does when components are connected.  basically you cant even drive the amp into clipping.  all the sudden it will just shut off.  it is very strange...

ok then what would be a good component amp? the jbl i have is the cs60.4 and only puts out 60 rms and i saw some polk 6.5s that i like that can take 100 rms. wont that under power them?  but thanks velocity motors! lol i just meant whats the best for 150. and im upgrading because i want better sound. all in all i will have about 330 for a new 4 channel amp and a set of components. so now the question is, is there a set of full range speakers that are very loud and clear that will be as loud as components? thanks for all the advice so far

The amp story sounds like a sales pitch. As for the speakers the best thing you can do is  just go audition some speakers. Just look for a efficient speakers that have a higher db rating. Example 98db rating should be louder than the 86 db speaker at the same power input. But then again every manufacture uses different methods of producing there rating.

If I am wrong someone let me know.
