As far as the enclosure... JBL Speakershop shows VERY favorable sealed responses from .879 cubes (with a system Q of .707 - "max flat") all the way up to the existing 3.3 cubes (with a system Q of .501 - "transient perfect") that you say you've got available. The benefit to the larger enclosure is the overall system power requirements will be lower! Nice...
I think the enclosure you have will be just fine!
