ok so this is two projects i got going i need some advice for.
first off i have a 2000 silverado thats getting a sunroof installed and was wondering if it would be a waste of money to dynamat the roof?(i figured it would keep the temp down and maybe help later with sound)
second i have a 2005 toureg thats getting a sub installed into it(my buddies). they wanted to keep the factory radio and stuff just add a sub. im gunna need to use a line output converter no? could you give me any heads up on how to do this. ive never really kept a factory radio so it will be a little new to me on how to get the rcas in

Be careful with that Touareg as they use CANbus with the factory deck, I'd suggest an LC6 audio control for the line out conversion, it'll even give you sub out.  The silverado we don't have here but dynamating is always a good thing to have for road noise damping but won't really effect heat in the 4WD (SUV for you americans). true true. doesnt dynamat have some stuff for heat as well to top it off or is it just better to run the extreme and were good?
as far as the Line converter goes how do they work exactly? and whats the word with CAN? will i run into big problems with it?

Controller Area Network (CAN or CAN-bus) is a computer network protocol and bus standard designed to allow microcontrollers and devices to communicate with each other and without a host computer.

Remember that the speakers are electronically crossed over in the amp, so be sure either pick a mid woofer lead or you may need to sum all of the leads. I don't recall.

Is the rest of the truck dynamatted? There are pros and cons that must be weighed here. Price to performance/outcome. I think it would make a difference in road noise, but how much, sort of a diminished returns situation. However since the headliner may be down it would be an ideal time to do it. Does the sound level in a V8 truck really matter after all?

actually i like the sound of the v8 its just the road noise and wind noise i hate. thats why i wanna put the dynamat in. on the roof i figured since its already down and all why not? but i just wanted to make sure.
so how does a line converter work exactly? will it load the headunit amp down? like change the impediance?
so as far as wiring up just jack one of the mid/sub wires and convert it over in the line converter? sounds easy enough im just hesitant cause ive never really done it before
thanks for all your guys help
