Hey, my name is Aaron. I am very interested in the car audio industry, and have been doing very basic installs on my own for about 6 months (so much experience right? haha), such as Dynamating and basic speaker installs. I recently got my MECP study guide in the mail and have been studying for a few weeks.
BUT, I want to get some more real world experience before I get my cert. Working on my car just isn't enough to go off of.
My question is, what can I do to ready myself?
Studying for MECP basic certification and looking for job at an install bay.

if you truly want real world experience , you may go to one of your local stereo shops and tell the boss you will work for free. tell him you are eager and want to learn . He may say yes and you will be on your way. Do a good job and have a good attitude and eventually he may hire you. Good Luck.

This site is not a replacement for experience, but it should help you out.   Read the entire site, there are only a few pages.
