led flasher blinking too fast

Im pretty sure its because the led uses less power and its not picking up enough load to acknowledge that there is a globe there.
Any idea on how I can correct this?
It flashes fine on hazards, just not on its own...

You will need to get 4 of these (Radio Shack # 271-120, 8ohm-20watt), and parallel one with each blinker on the vehicle.    This will simulate an actual bulb being in place.  The LEDs pull no current, your car thinks that you have burnt bulbs.    The resistors may run a little warm, you need to monitor them for heat before buttoning up the install.

Here is an instructable I made on altering the flash rate of the actual flasher module in my Cougar.
Flash Rate Mod
It only requires a resistance change in the module and you don't have to use those big high wattage resistors or cut up your wiring.
