What you did was create a ground path for the RCA shields because your head unit is damaged. Exactly what I Am was trying to lead you to. Your fix is temporary and your HU should be repaired... but hey, if you're happy leave it. And please learn from this about the importance of disconnecting the battery (or at least pulling your main power fuse) when you work on the electrical system.

yes dyohn i will. i usually do but i got in a hurry and it cost me. lol. if i get it fixed should i get the same one or maybe a new brand HU?

also. why did nothing happen when i grounded a wire and touch it to the rca output on the radio? nothing at all.
