I'm having a problem with a remote start in a 2008 Jeep Liberty.  The accessory wire needs ground through a 600 ohm resistor.  If this isn't present before crank it doesn't start.  However, after the car starts this needs to be removed or else the heater controls don't work.  Any idea how to wire it up this way?  I had no reliable success yesterday.  I'm installing a Prestige APS-687.  Thanks.

Heres my Shot:

Use a dual relay system with two SPDT relays:

Relay 1 :

Pole 85: Connect to the remote start wire that plugs into the primary starter wire. (starter only shows current during crank time)
Pole 86: Ground to Chassis (connects circuit)
Pole 87: Connect to 85 of other relay (this will activate the other relay only during crank time)
Pole 87a: Not Used
Pole 30: Connect to 86 of other relay

Relay 2 (to control which type of ground):

Pole 85: to 87 previous relay
Pole 86: to 30 previous relay
Pole 87: to ground w/ 600 ohm resistor (normally open unless car is cranking)
Pole 87a: to ground w/o resistor (will act as ground for accessory wire unless cranking)
Pole 30: to accessory wire

Only issue may be if the accessory wire cant be grounded at all times since this setup will keep the accessory grounded at all times unless the car is cranking.

I may be missing something.  30 and 87 are simply going to short the coil of the second relay.  The second relay is not going to energize.

Careful this vehicle is sensitve.....it is actually 610 ohms for the accesory and what about 180 ohms for the start ?

You should save your self some time and trouble and use a PKUCH-2X bypass module or IDATA -Link. If you miss on the timing or you relays you will have trouble with other multiplexed systems on the vehicle, IE park lights, locks wipers etc. we have had some fun with the liberty and a similar vehicle (Pacifica) cost the shop a instrument cluster from using relays to controll the multiplex ign. It can be done just not recomended.

You guys hook up the second accessory resistor on these?
We use Audiovox where I work, and with this product, these cars don't need any relays.
Audiovox RED / white constant power input: remove 30-amp fuse, install 5 or 10-amp fuse, connect to blue/red constant power wire at ignition switch
Audiovox blue ignition 1: connect to pink/white ignition at ignition switch
Audiovox green ignition 2, purple accessory, yellow starter, red constant power input: no connections necessary
Audiovox BLACK / YELLOW, "pulse during start:" connect to PURPLE / brown at ignition switch. No relay, no diode, no resistor. Just hook it up straight.
That's it.
Other tips:
1. Go into programming, and select "transponder bypass output" to "during start." That way, after remote start, your bypass module will turn off.
If you don't do that, when you insert the key for takeover, the car will see two keys at the same time, and the security light will come on.
2. You can't use crank averaging because the yellow wire on the Audiovox piece never gets to see an input to learn from.
Unless you have a tach wire hooked up, you need to switch from Tachometer Checking to Voltage Checking, but also, go into the Crank Averaging section, and select "pre-set time."

Mine is set up red and RED / white from battery direct,  blue ign to pink/white, yellow starter to violet/brown through 180ohm resistor, purple accessory to violet/brown through 600ohm resistor, voltage sensing.  I'll try your method friday when the customer comes back and let you kow what happens.

Yes, try the other way and see what you find.
Hopefully nothing is damaged. The violet/brown wire on the car is negative, but the outputs you're using from the remote starter are positive.
Hopefully the inline resistors are enough to help keep the car's ignition switch from getting damaged.

I meant to say ground through the resistors to the violet/brown.  sorry.  Nothing damaged.
