The installation manual states that one should not use T-taps of Scotch locks for high voltage conections(ignition, starter, tach) etc.
What would be the proper connction techniques?.
How does once access the igntion harness on 1999 Saab. Hint-ingition is located in the center console between the from seats.

The manual also suggests a way to splice the wire together using "twist & tape" method.

I'd go a step farther and solder them after "twisting", and directly before "taping."
Or at least, that's how I've always wired high-current connections in remote start systems. I put one of those (actually a Viper 790XV, but the same thing, I'm told) on a '03 avalanche a few months ago. Man, was that a PITA!

Another question. The 554 has a factory unarmed output during remote start phase and a optional factory re-arm output after remote start time out. However my vehicle arms with lock and disarms with unlock. (1999 Saab 9-3). It would not make sense to unlock the doors during to remote start would it??? Or am I misunderstanding theses functions.
Note: The car starts with key (after a short alarm chirp) when armed.
For your convenience, here is the installation manual link:
