Hey I just had a compustar alarm installed on my 1996 Cavalier Coupe. I now have a small problem. I noticed just recently that the dome light is staying on. It's not staying on all the way, just half way. Kinda half fillament lighting. I was told this could be the diodes by the door pins. Can someone direct me a little better on what to look for? I mean say it IS the diodes, how will I know, or what should I do? If someone can help me out here that would be great.

A very common problem on Chevys is the door pins themselves. Try removeing the driver's door pinswitch & disconnect both wires. (Should be white & tan).  If this cures the problem, replace the switch.

If not, then reassemble the switch, reinstall.  Disconnect the alarm door trigger wire & see if problem persists.

Good luck!

Hey am having a problem with mine. The pager will only lock and unlock my doors but other than that it works great. I took it back to the dealer and they had to send off the brain back to compustar. How would you go about returning it? I had it in my car a week before it was sent back and that was a month ago.
