Please, tell me what's the difference between various types of universal bypass models, let's say 556UW and 791-model , or 20402 and 29402.It's my first time trying to install remote starter.I bought the 791-model in Sears for $19.Will it work on VW golf 2002? Tell me which one would be best to use?

Hi everybody,
I was trying to locate some wires in the ignition harness for remote starter.First of all,in the wiring diagram for VW GOLF 2002, it says it has only one 12 constant power wire(red). However,I found two red wires which show 12 positive even when they key is out of the ignition.Do I then have two 12 constant wires?
Second,I found another wire BROWN / red.On some wiring diagrams it says that it's the keysense, on other that it's the second ignition, on the other it doesn't show any BROWN / red wires at all.So what's that wire???If it's keysense,in what positions should it read 12V on the multimeter and do I need to connect it to any wires on the remote start anyways? If it's the second ignition, then it has to be connected. Will it then read 12V under the same positions as the main ignition wire? So how do I know which is this wire???
Another thing,I need to find a factory alarm disarm wire.Do I find in the door or under the left dashboard?
where do I find the parking light switch?

According to Audiovox the brown with red is the key sense and it should read positive with the key in the ignition. You can find the parking lights in the drivers kick panel they will be Gray/Red Gray or Gray/Black you will need to diode Isolate this wire from the starter it should read positive when testing. To connect the Key Sense to the remote start use the ground when running wire and use a polarity reversing relay unless your starter has a positive key sense output. Not sure if you can use an extra positive accessory lead or not.

Hi,
pardon me for my unawareness.I am the first-time-ever-decided-to-install-remote-starter user, so forgive me my unprofessional language and lack of expertise.Speaking about keysense,my question is if this wire must be wired, or I can just leave it alone without even touching it???To be more exact, will the remote start system operate if I don't hook up this wire at all???I am asking this, because no installation manuals ever mention wiring keysense.

No the remote start will not function without the keysense. This tells the vehicle there is a key in the ignition and its not being hot wired. Installation manuals for a given starter do not know what car your installing into so they can't say if you need to connect keysense or not. If the vehicle has it chances are it needs to be connected. You can see how it works by connecting an voltmeter to the wire and inserting your key. It will read 12v with the key in.

Hi again,
I was reading the installation manual for Autocommand Model 41026T remote start system. In the text it just says "find the right wire and solder the other wire to it."But when I looked at the wiring diagram for accessory wire and starter wire, it shows that the relay needs to be used for both. So do I need to use the relays on ignition, accessory and starter wires if I have only one of each???Or does the relay application only apply when more than one of ignition, accessory and starter wires present???

Hi,
where do I find a factory alarm disarm wire on VW GOLF 2002? on the wiring diagram the factory alarm disarm disarms with unlock.Should I assume that the power unlock wire would be the right wire for me? It also says that it's in the driver door module. How do I get to it?

Hi everybody,
I need to connect several wires to install my remote start system:
1)parking lights wires. I have two of them, and I need the diagram of how to wire them with a relay.Does anybody has it?
2)factory disarm wire.I found it in the door module.Do I just connect it to the proper wire from the remote start system?
3)where do I connect the wire from the hood pin switch?should it be connected to the remote start system only?or should it be also connected to some wire in the car?
4)keysense.in the manual for the bypass module 556U, I found that one of the wires in the main harness(Violet for the positive)should be connected to the keysense wire.Do I need to make any other connections to the keysense besides this?
5)are there any other issues that I should know???
