Hello, I have a 2005 grand caravan sxt that we bought with a dodge factory remote start. The remote start is a separate remote not integrated into the keyless entry. This van has the power doors so all that is in the main remote with the key.  Remote start worked fine until we had to boost the van one day, now when the remote is pressed the van starts no problem , but after about 1 - 2 seconds it shuts off, beeps the horn and then restarts again and goes into and endless loop of starting and stopping until the key is put into the ignition and turned.

I would love to find a solution to this problem.  I have searched all over and have found other posts in various forums but never found an answer.  I know i am new to this site and i hope i have come to the right place.

any information would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance.

Most remote starters retain their tachometer settings, even if the battery was disconnected or drained.
It actually sounds like more of a Sentry Key (immobilizer) problem.
Are your ignition keys gray or black?
If they are gray, turn the key on and look in the instrument cluster for a little red dot. You'll notice that it comes on steady for a few seconds, and then goes out.
Now, remove the key and try the remote starter. Is the light still coming on solid red, or is it flashing?

but, are they black with remotes built onto them.
first thing I would do is sit in the van when you remote start it, see if the security light is flashing when it remote starts.
If so then is a transponder issue.

all the new Chrysler vehicles are transponder. Like posted above, remote start the van while sitting inside and see if the theft light comes on. I would also try holding a ignition key next to the cylinder while you remote start the van. If it starts and stays running with a key in the cylinder then it's the bypass. If you don't have any of these problems when it's most likely a programming issue or the unit has lost its programming. In either case I would recommend you get in touch with a professional installer, or since it was factory installed the dealership should warranty the work preformed. Keep us updated.
