I'm installing my first remote start. Have wired in nearly everything, but am having trouble with the tach.
According to the 4 wiring guides I've read, the tach is any wire at the ignition coil that is NOT light GREEN/ green. At each coil there are two wires, one of which is light GREEN/ green, the other is a peach kinda color.
Attaching to this, I read a constant 12 volts during operation, 30 V if I switch the multimeter to AC operation.
Any suggestions?
Have attached a picture of where I spliced in.

Does the AC voltage increase when the engine is revved up?

The voltage is constant, whether it be ac or dc.

It just looks constant because it alternates so fast your meter can't keep up. It may show constant when the car is not running as it may rest at 12volts also. While running you usually see small changes in the voltage when you rev the motor...
