I must have skimmed that to quickly. That should be a straight forward alarm then. They shouldn't need more then 4-5 hours for that alarm. There isn't much special about the wiring for that vehicle.

That doesn't make sense then. None of the places around here want to install it, they say it is too difficult? Are they just unexperienced installers or what? The place I went to was authorized clifford dealer and they didn't even want to do it. They said it was too dangerous messing with the factory wiring and such. I really need to get this installed to bring my insurance premium down and get my car protected. I park in a dark alley everyday for work and I've already had one stereo stolen. If anyone knows someone around the oregon area that could install this at a reasonable cost I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, Adam

The alarm has a built in window roll up module in it's CPU & the Jeep's window system is a basic type A (-) trigger system. If this is only the Jeep Cherokee, it has a basic door lock system ( -) that you will require a couple of relays for. I don't know what all the hooplah is about if it's just a basic alarm installation with window roll up control ?

Yeah I don't know either. They made it out to be the hardest alarm in the industry to install. He said it would take 2 days. Maybe oregon installers are just unexperienced :(.

Well taking auex's advice I went to install it by myself today. When I opened all the panels I just didn't feel comfortable enough cutting the wires. I was afraid I was gonna short something. I really need someone to install this for me. If theres anyone in or around the oregon area that could install this alarm for me I'd really appreciate it. I could drive at a max 400 miles. Please let me know.

First of all I want to say that the AG4 is NOT A basic install. If you would go to the DEI site and download the installation manual on the alarm you will see. I have previously worked for a Clifford Authorized dealer and have previously looked into getting the alarm for myself. The owner of the shop I was working for had called Clifford about it, and they stated that they alarm would take a full 2-3 days for a Certified MECP installer to install it as it was built to be installed. I can understand why the shop would charge the amount they stated, however I dont understand why no one will attempt it. The AG4 has wireless fuel shut off for the fuel pump, etc. Like I said its not a basic alarm install.
Just thought I would enlighten everyone.

I agree with you, after looking at all the wiring I can definently say it is not "basic". However,  I would think that people that install alarms for a living would at least attempt this. It seems to me like the only hard part is finding the wires you need to tap into. I guess I have an expensive paperweight until I find someone that will attempt to do it.

Well, as you said to begin with I believe, that one shop did tell you that they would do it, however it was going to cost you like $600. I know from seeing the retail price sheet for the AG4 with installation, is right around $1,000. I dont see why they dont want to attempt it, besides the fact that they dont think they will be able to get everything programmed correctly after its installed. They might not want to deal with all the hassle that its may bring them after installation. Good luck.

When I say " BASIC " I mean that it has all the same wires that you would normally have on a bare system to make it operational. Power, ground IGN, ACC & the trigger wires. The AG4 has alot of options available to the customer IF they want them all installed ( Window rollup, Intellistart remote start , tilt sensor, etc ). The basis of the installation is still no different than a traditional remote starter/alarm system, but the programming and the extra options will take more time for the installer to complete. If the customer wants all the bells and whistles of the system, it will take time and money, but if the installer knew about the AG4 prior to giving you the quote he should have knew about it's extra wiring.
