Today I installed a crimestopper remote start/keyless entry, on my moms car, as a Christmas gift. I hooked the green and blue door triggers to pink/green, pink / YELLOW just below the factory GEM module. After remote starting, the doors lock and then immediately unlock . Do I need to diode the wires? The car has factory keyless entry.

Thanks

Was the drivers door open when you tried it?

The Taurus always unlocks the drivers door after locking if the door is open. It could be the RS locks the doors when the RS is turned on(the Idatalink units do this too).

Yes, the drivers door was open. I thought it also did it with the door closed. It was not just the drivers lock that popped open, they all did it. I was under the impression that diodes were needed for this setup.

I will be finishing it today and will post back.

Thank you for the relpys,

Frank

I finished the install today. The doors only unlock while the drivers door is open. I feel better knowing that this is normal on this car.

Thanks for the info;

Frank
