I am just trying to figure out where to take this vehicle to have cruise control installed. I manage a fleet of vehicles and this one came in without CC and the operator insists on having it due to all of his travel. The operator brought this in to a dealership in a small town. They told him  that it would be a $5000.00 install due to having to change the main computer on the vehicle etc. Have any of you installed on the 2009's and does this make any sense at all to you? I am located in Phoenix, Arizona and need to find a reasonable place or type of business to do this install. Suggestions? Thanks.............mowedthelawn

it is posable to instail factory cruise in these truck  you will need a new wheel, coil, column harness, and have your local dealer reprogram your bcm should cost around 500 in parts

The dealers cannot just add at new steering wheel and reprogram the BCM. GM has locked out the BCM and you cannot reconfigure this vehicle to accept GM lan bus cruise.

You can only add a pedal pull type system. Audiovox and Rostra make some of these systems.  You need to find a shop that is familiar with the pedal pull system and have them install it for you.

I am guessing you would pay around $550.00 install including parts. You might find the parts online for around $120.00 and have it installed. Good luck.

on a 2009? i hope you are correct, but im 100% sure youre mistaken. this one cannot just be "reprogrammed". to add one on it's gonna have to be a pedal pull.

I am a Gm techinician (Chevrolet) and I deal with programing all day long. I have a copy of the bulletin gm has that states they do not offer programing for cruise in the BCM (BCM Lockedout).  I also have Mopar technician number.  What dept. in GM VIS did you call and talk to and have the BCM reprogramed and how exactly did they do this. Did they issue you a VCI number or not.

what is needed to get the cruise to work is a wheel with the cruise button a new sir coil with cruise and you may need a new bcm but if you can find a wrecked truck with cruise just use its vin to reprogram the bcm. The bcm are not locked.

I talked to GM vis aplication specialist at GM (GM Engineer) and they still stand by their bulletin that they do not support any kind of upgrade for Cruise control addition, even with factory parts. If you really were able to get Cruise control software added to the BCM (which I do not believe) you fell thru the cracks and got lucky!

Post the Case number GM gives whenever you change any programing or add features (software upgrades) they support. With the case number I can see the BCM changes to verify a BCM upgrade to Cruise control enable.
