What do you mean by flatter because I thought like this go with the sealed box becasue a big truck is like a port itself with all of that space but some guys say since I like rap music go with the ported box but others say go with sealed and some notes will sound better. I have a sealed box now and posted this forum because I was thinking about getting a ported box

What i mean by flatter is to the responce of the sub in DB terms. For true SQ you want to try and achieve the flattest curve possible all the way down to the bottom freq. If you are a rap guy im betting you want some ground shaking as i said before. Your looking for more output. Ported will definaty do this but is going to sacrifice a more true SQ sound although it can still sound good. I my self run ported Kicker L7 15s They sound great. I listen to almost every kind of music. For rap it will more than make you happy. If you are looking for more output and something that is going to still sound good then yes this can be done. The problem is there is always going to be compermise. With more ouput in certain frequencies you are giving up SQ and for more SQ you are giving up output. If you want a happy medium then yes you can go ported.

Can you go any larger? That is only 3.31 cube per sub. Then you have to subtract the port which is .64 per sub only giving you only 2.67 cubic foot per sub. That puts it  under what it needs to be for the minimum ported encloser. If you dont have anymore space your best bet is to stay sealed from both an ouput and SQ standpoint.

That would be enough to work with to make the smallest ported enclosure. Would you like me to give you some exact specs for the box?

42" W x 17" H x 22" D overall outside dimensions. Do an air tight baffle between the 2 subs(giving each sub its own chamber in the enclosure)and 1 port per chamber. Ports will be 2 3/4" W x 15 1/2" H x 25 3.4" L( you will have to fold the port)  FB=35Hz

No problems. Keep in mind this is the smallest recommended ported enclosure. If you could gain more space it could be louder and sound better. But we are talking 2 to 4 cubic foot larger than what i have just done there.
