For what it's worth, I just hooked up the defogger output on my Viper 5701 directly to the driver's heated seat wire (behind the HVAC controlls) in my 07 Ford Edge and it works perfectly. Didn't need a relay or anything special, just the negative pulse from the defogger output.

Cool...yeah thats what im gonna plan on doing. i should have it finished sometime this week

Question on the XK04- it says it needs a ground from the R/S when running? what wire off the R/S does this? I cant find it anywhere in the manual- all i see is a ground when the system is armed well that one wont work? I have a viper 5901. Im not using the D2D cable either?

since you'll be using the blue/white on your seats, you'll want to connect the small solid blue in the red harness (6 pins i think) that also has a small pink, orange, purple, etc. the blue wire is the ground when running, aka: status output

The blue/white is the defrost output. There is a red harness like he said that is remote start status. You'll want to use the blue wire on this harness, that will give a ground when running. That's the wire I used on my 5701, should be the same as yours. I used it with the PKALL and the D2D cable, which also still needs ground when running.

^ Correct. The harness with the BLUE(status) wire has a red plug, not a red harness. I hope that clears it up.

As far as the BLUE/WHITE(defogger/2nd status) wire, depending on how many circuits your driving, it may need to be relay isolated. It only supports ~250ma.

Ideal - cmon dude, add to topics in a useful manner, not stuff that is obvious.
Story - Phzzzt! Hey, what happened?! ... Isn't it obvious?
Moral - Never dismiss the obvious.

UPDATE

I finally finished installing the remote starter...this is what i did for my heated seats

I used the blue/white (defrogger wire from R/S) and ran them to the heated seats- on the F150 the drivers heated seat is WHITE/ red and passenger is WHITE/ yellow. I set that wire to do a pulse when activated and it works like a charm.

I then used the Blue wire from the 5 wire harness (R/S) to send a ground to the bypass XK04 which programmed perfectly the first time- worked great!

Thanks for all your help guys- this system rocks!
