I'm planning on getting two 12" 1600watt 4ohm chrome subwoofers. 800RMS and Spl: 90dB. I have tried to research on my own, but cannot decide on what kind of amp or how much power it needs to have.. please help!

I wouldn't buy those subs. Instead I would go to a local car audio shop and see what they have to offer and what they recommend. There are TONS of better companies out there than Lanzar ( stands for flea market). At least if you go to a shop ( of a few for that matter) and hear a few different sets of subs, you will have a chance to hear what that extra dollar buys you. After you shop locally, and if you still need some help deciding, we can give you some ideas on some great sub ideas. But for the short answer to your question, a 600rms (or 1300w) amp of the same quality would suffice.

If you believe the specs to be accurate, then yes you need an amp that will produce 1600 watts into a 4 ohm load or a 1 ohm load.
